The Muskoka Watershed Council (MWC) has unveiled a bold new Supporter Package and Partnership Benefits Program, offering individuals and organizations an opportunity to align with Muskoka’s leading environmental voice at a critical time.
Across Muskoka, the signs are impossible to ignore. Floods are more frequent, water quality is slipping, and land use pressures are intensifying. All of this is happening as our climate shifts under our feet. These are not isolated issues—they are part of a growing pattern of environmental stress that threatens the homes we cherish, the lakes we love, and the livelihoods we depend on.
Nature is sending us a clear message: the way we’ve been managing land and water no longer works.
This year, MWC is taking bold steps to meet these challenges head-on:
- Accelerating progress on Integrated Watershed Management (IWM)—a smarter, more connected way to steward our environment.
- Growing our outreach program by delivering engaging educational presentations to more lake associations, community clubs, municipalities, chambers of commerce, and other local organizations across Muskoka.
- Hosting a major environmental conference this fall, bringing experts and the community together for action.
- Expanding our algae monitoring program to equip lake associations and their members with tools and knowledge to monitor and protect lake health.
For the first time ever, MWC is officially inviting the public and business community to support it. The new Supporter Package offers recognition, engagement opportunities, and real-world impact—whether you’re a local entrepreneur, a lakeside resident, or a regional leader looking to invest in a sustainable future.
“We’re not just reacting to environmental problems—we’re proactively building the future we want for Muskoka,” says Aaron Rusak, Chair of the Muskoka Watershed Council. “This package gives our supporters a chance to be part of something lasting.”
