In addition to devotion to professionalism in trades and related services, the Muskoka Builders’ Association also has philanthropy on their list of priorities.
At their Annual General Meeting on June 13, 2017, the MBA presented Big Brothers Big Sisters of Muskoka with a cheque for $1,300.00. The association donated a portion of the proceeds from its Home and Cottage Show to the charitable organization after choosing Big Brothers Big Sisters of Muskoka as its charitable partner.
Muskoka Builders Association Vice President Katy McGregor says, “Big Brothers Big Sisters is a very important Muskoka-wide organization that does not receive core funding from the government. The Muskoka Builders’ Association is very proud to be supporting them and encourages others to do the same. It’s the ‘little’ things that we can do to make a difference!”
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Muskoka provides mentorship programs for youth between the ages of 6-16 throughout Muskoka. With 38 children and youth currently on the agency’s waiting list, they are actively seeking out volunteers as well as funding opportunities.
