MUSAC has strong showing as hosts of regional championships

Muskoka Aquatic Club (MUSAC) welcomed more than 300 swimmers, family members, coaches and officials for the Huronia Short Course Regional Championships on February 1-2. MUSAC coach Morgan Kierstead said the event was a HUGE success!

The MUSAC swim team was represented by an outstanding group of 28 swimmers who raced their hearts out, said Kierstead, which landed the team fourth place overall out of the nine clubs.

“Our swimmers swam majority best times and we had several qualifying swims and club records! Every single swimmer in attendance played a part in earning the club points either in individual events or relays,” added Kierstead. MUSAC was awarded many medals with eight top finishers.

A special congratulations goes out to the Boys 10 and Under Relay Team—Ty Gevaert, Josh Gevaert, George Kierstead and Arik Martin-Padfield—for breaking the 4×50 Medley club record as well as Tyler Skinner for breaking the 13/14 Boys 50M Breaststroke club record.

MUSAC was very thankful to all of the volunteers that were part of the weekend home event.
