Love treasure hunts? Here’s one for a good cause!

With more than 20 riddles to solve, participants will be sure to get in the festive spirit as they search for treasures hidden around Huntsville’s downtown core and surrounding area. The social distanced scavenger hunt will take place on the weekend of December 16. It will be completed between Friday at 12 Noon and Saturday at 9 pm.

“We wanted to create a fun family event that could be carried out [while] social distancing and at the same time showcase our amazing community,” said Dione Schumacher, Rotarian and event chair.

The funds raised support Rotary People of Action Huntsville’s service projects performed in and around the community. “The funds raised help us with projects we perform in the community. Whether it be purchasing paint or renting a wood chipper at cost, we try to partner with other organizations to keep costs down but in the end if we need to purchase something to get the job done, we have the funds to do so,” said Kelly Hammond, Rotarian and committee member.

On Friday, December 16 participants are sent 20+ riddles which they have to solve. The riddles will take them to different locations in and around the Huntsville core. Each team has to find treasures that have been strategically placed.  Once they find the treasure, they take a selfie as proof they found their destinations. In addition to a random prize, prizes will also be awarded for most creative selfie and the team who answers the most riddles.

So if you love games and contributing to worthy causes in your community, here is your chance! Tickets for the event can be purchased through the club’s event page on Facebook or through their website here

Proceeds support Rotary People of Action Huntsville’s service projects such as helping a family prepare for winter, or bringing a little joy with an amazing makeover at the Chrysalis women’s shelter.
