Muskoka Algonquin Runners (MARS) was well-represented by 24 runners at the Canadian XC Championships on Saturday, November 23 in Kingston.
In the U18 races, Emma Elliott and Cam Heinz ran alongside the best youth runners in Canada and had solid races. We are really proud of them.
In the Masters races, MARS had three age group wins: Troy Cox M50-54, Lavinia Carreau W40-44, and Kim Russel Brooks W60-64. Chris Watson placed third in M40-44 and Corina Tschan placed third in W45-49.
In the team category, the club also has three Canadian champion teams: W40-49 Lavinia Carreau, Donna Mae Robins, Jen Nicholson, and Corina Tschan; W60-69 Kim Russel Brooks and Nancy Edson; and M40-49 Chris Watson, Troy Cox, Jeramie Carbonaro, Mark Sinnige.
The MARS M50-59 and M60-69 teams placed third.
Pretty amazing for a club whose town population is 20,000! Super proud of our runners.
