‘Judo Jeff’ Allen wraps up 2019 with five more medals

Judo Jeff Allen has added yet more hardware to his accolades to finish off 2019.

He battled over two weekends in October and November to medal in every division that he entered and bring home two golds, a silver and two bronze medals.

In early November, he competed in the Quebec Open in Montréal, bringing home a silver in the +100kg Newaza Division and a bronze in the Senior +100kg Division.

Allen continued his winning streak at the Hatashita Ontario Open in Toronto on November 9-10, winning gold in the Veterans Plus 100 Newaza (judo submission) Division, gold in the +100 Veterans Division, and a bronze in the +100 Senior Division.

His outstanding results place him first in Canada in the +100 Veterans Heavyweight Division, first in Canada in the Newaza Grand Champion, and third in Canada in the +100 Senior Heavyweight Division.

Allen is very happy with his accomplishments in 2019 and is looking forward to 2020 when he will be competing at the Canadian Judo Elite 8 at the Olympic Center in Montréal on January 12. The top eight fighters in Canada will meet to fight for top spot.

Judo Jeff’s next goal is to compete at the Veteran World Championships in Poland in October 2020 where he aims to earn the title of World Heavyweight Judo Champion.

Allen is always thankful to those who support him. “Thank you to my beautiful wife Crystal and my amazing children Lucas and Ayla for all your love and support,” he said.
