Last week we shared this photo with you:

This picturesque grotto no longer exists. It was once located beside the swing bridge in Huntsville, adjacent to where On the Docks Pub is today.

  1. The train station had the freight removed by horses until the mid twenties.

I won’t argue with Dave about the train station, but will note that at least they HAD a train. Sometimes progress is not all it is claimed to be.

I do also remember that little grotto by the bridge. When we were in public school we were told that there were “trolls” who lived down near the grotto and we should not go there! Probably just the older kids getting a laugh our of the younger ones as I don’t remember the Town embarking on any “troll removal program”.

  4. DAVID JOHNS says:

This is the original Train Station and I don’t see any automobiles so I’m guessing around 1900.
