It’s Wayback Wednesday, sponsored by Pharmasave Huntsville!
This postcard image, looking across the Muskoka River at the swing bridge, town dock, and downtown Huntsville, is undated but there are some clues to when it might have been taken. Take a guess in the comments.
Last week we shared this photo:
We don’t know the year this photo was taken, but it’s been many decades since most people travelled with trunks. What else do you notice about this scene? (Photo courtesy of the CN Images of Canada Gallery)

That steel bridge was still there in 1945.So guess this photo is in the early 1940’s
Harvey Forde says
When I lived in Huntsville in 1930 , south of the bridge on the right side the stores had been built, as well the boat house at the front of the picture is missing. My guess of the date of the card would be between 1900 and 1920.

Thank you for your information, Harvey Forde. My wife and I had the pleasure of being your neighbors in Fonthill when our children were in elementary school. Both of us had the Huntsville connection, yours going back to when you left Huntsville at eleven years of age. Your memories of the tannery horses and other Huntsville events of your day were fascinating to someone who didn’t experience Huntsville until the late 40’s and on. Nice that you have kept the Huntsville connection with daughter Cathy and her husband Peter Vanderkraan. Please keep those memories flowing to Doppler and know that many of us enjoy reading about them.
