The Preston Heating Tyke Rep Hawks took the win with an undefeated streak for the B/C Division at the Milton Mavericks Invitational Minor Lacrosse Tournament last weekend.
The Hawks Tyke team played two games on Friday, June 2, with a huge win 13-1 against Oakville followed by a second win over Orillia 9-2. On Saturday, June 3, the boys took to the floor for two more games, meeting Kawartha Lakes and leading by three with a score of 5-2 and then played TBA doubling their opponents’ score with a 10-5 win.
The gold medal game on Sunday, June 4 had Huntsville meeting Sarnia without hesitation to win it all 8-3.
The five game weekend didn’t slow the Tyke Rep team down at all as they kept the gold-winning momentum going into their regular season game against Orillia on Monday, June 5, winning 7-3, bringing the teams’ stats to 8 straight wins. Continue to bring it, boys!
The Moller Insurance Novice Hawks competed in the same Milton tournament in the B/C Divison. They won their first game against South Shores, Quebec, but then lost a close game against Clarington which had the team play South Shores for a second time. This game, the Novice Hawks lost so they did not advance into the semi-finals. Great effort, boys!
Also, the Moose Delaney’s Midget Hawks competed in a one-day tournament in Stayner. The Midgets had one win and one loss placing them in a final game for the consolation prize. The Midget Hawks were successful in beating Orangeville to end the tournament on a high note.
Overall, an exciting weekend for our Huntsville Hawks. Great success!
