Initiative aims to combat an increasing number of fraud cases

From 2017 to 2021, there has been a steady increase in the number of fraud cases reported to the OPP particularly by seniors ages 60 to 90.

With fraud on the rise, the OPP Auxiliary Fraud Prevention Initiative helps to:

Promote fraud prevention for people of all ages through community engagement and public education;

• Build awareness of frauds that threaten the safety and security of Ontario seniors;

• And Educate Ontario seniors to recognize, reject and report fraud.

If your community group may benefit from learning more about fraud, and you would like an Auxiliary member to attend a meeting of your local community group to deliver fraud education, contact [email protected].
