In a year when the pandemic dominated news feeds everywhere (again), there was still plenty of good news to be found.

These were the feel-good stories that resonated most deeply with you (as measured by views) in 2021.

Lake of Bays resident gives a shoutout to the ‘wonderful young guy’ who returned his wallet

When Bill Gambrell (pictured above) lost his wallet in Baysville, not long after losing his wife to cancer, he thought it was gone for good. But 10 days later, it was found tucked between the slats of a park bench and delivered, fully intact, right to his door.

In another happy lost-and-found story, a backpack holding more emotional than monetary value took a circuitous route back to its owners after falling out of the back of a truck.

Golden Rescue is one of the largest single-breed rescue groups in Canada. Some of their pups from around the world have found welcoming homes in Huntsville.

Local surgeon, Dr. Hector Roldan, had a dream: to create a facility in rural Guatemala to provide dental care, health care, education, a place of worship, and food security for nearby residents. Huntsville health care workers and residents jumped on board to help.
