It was a busy time in Huntsville last weekend as 69 teams from across Ontario spent three days playing and celebrating girls’ hockey on the ice in Huntsville, Lake of Bays, and Burk’s Falls.
The Huntsville Girls Hockey Association held its 46th Annual Huntsville Sting Hockey Tournament, which brought a buzz of excitement to the area.
Out of the eleven final games played, Huntsville Sting took home three Gold medals in the U11 House League, U13B Competitive, and the U15 House League Division, plus a Silver medal in the U18 House League division. (See photos from the Association below).
“This weekend, we celebrated GIRLS HOCKEY and the Division Finalists & Champions! We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all our teams near and from far, especially our hometown Huntsville Sting who achieved an impressive tally…,” noted the Girls Hockey Association on their Facebook page. “We express our gratitude to every player from our 69 teams who joined, team member, coaching staff, family, volunteers, and fans who contributed to making this weekend a memorable experience for all!”

So great to see all these girls and young women playing hockey! In my day, broom ball on skates was fun though as I discovered, alas belatedly, nowhere near as exciting as holding a hockey stick and going for the puck!
Congratulations to all the hockey players who participated, the champions, and to the Huntsville Girls Hockey Association for their 46th annual home tournament.
Way to go girls
Congratulations to ALL of the players & coaches
Impressive
You go, girls.
