Huntsville Skating Club receives Gold Star recognition for CanSkate program

Submitted by the Huntsville Skating Club

On December 20, 2018 the Huntsville Skating Club hosted the club’s first Development Day to celebrate club and skater achievements this season. Skaters in the StarSkate and CanSkate programs participated in training circuits, then skaters from the StarSkate program put on a spectacular showcase of skating routines.

Community members were admitted with the donation of non-perishable food items that were brought to the Table Soup Kitchen just in time for the holidays. The club would like to thank all who donated and supported our HSC skaters.

The Huntsville Skating Club also had some exciting news to announce. The Huntsville Skating Club was granted Gold Star for Advanced Standards in the CanSkate Excellence Program! HSC was one of only 10 clubs in the province to receive this honour. The club would like to thank the coaches and board members for their dedication to offering superior programming.

The Huntsville Skating Club is a not-for-profit organization run by a board of committed volunteers and Skate Canada certified professional coaches, Chrissy Mantle-Marnoch, Jeff Trott, Linda Vandertas and Tim White.

The club currently has 150+ members in a variety of programs offered to all ages. For more information about the Huntsville Skating Club visit Visit the HSC website for exciting news coming about the end of year carnival on April 7, 2019.

  1. Congrats HFSC to all involved. The HFSC was a big part of my childhood growing up. Many major 2 day shows were put on for all of Huntsville to see. Learned a lot about setting goals, teamwork and perseverance. Double flips were a killer. 😂

Glad to read Tim White is still involved.
