Hook a big one and help the fire department at the annual Huntsville Pike Challenge

Are you ready for a challenge? The Huntsville Fire Department Association is preparing to host its seventh annual Huntsville Pike Challenge. The event is the main fundraiser for the Huntsville Fire Department which uses the funds raised for educational materials, bursaries and giving back to the community for those in need.

This year’s tournament is being held on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at the Huntsville Town Dock (90 Main Street E.) from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Huntsville Fire Department is making this a weekend event by celebrating on Saturday night (June 3) at the Huntsville Fire Hall with a BBQ from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. for all registered participants.

Get your fish on and join as a team of two to search for the top five largest pike of the north in Lake Vernon, Fairy Lake and Pen Lake. There will be three measuring stations – Tally Ho, Northern Shores Cottage Association and the Huntsville Town Dock. Measuring closes at 4:00 p.m. sharp! The BIG FISH and winners placing first to fifth receive cash prizes and winners placing sixth to 15th receive prize packages donated from local merchants.

The deadline to register is Saturday, June 3rd. If you need to register on the day of the event, there will be a delay in your start time. Make sure to register as soon as you can.

Early-bird registration is open online until May 15. Early registration enters your name into a draw for a chance to win next year’s admission free, a value of $180 for a team of two.

The Huntsville Fire Department Association is still looking for donations of goods and services for the prize packages or participant draw. Here are the three ways you can contribute:

  1. Donate an item or service to be used as a participant draw item, value ranges upward from $150
  2. Donate an item or service to be used in a prize package, or
  3. Donate a monetary value that can be used to add value to the prize packages where shortfalls arise.

Sponsors are publicly acknowledged before, during and after the event.
