Huntsville OPP charge 10 drivers with impaired during Festive R.I.D.E. campaign

 

Starting on November 26th, 2020 the Festive R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) Program started across the Province of Ontario and ended on January 2nd, 2021. Members of the Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police did their part by setting up 89 separate R.I.D.E. check stops on roadways throughout the Huntsville and Lake of Bays township area.

As a result of these R.I.D.E. check stops, 10 people were charged with Impaired Driving.

Festive R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) Program is one of 10 annual provincial traffic safety campaigns that help reduce the incidence of impaired driving on area trails & roadways here in North Muskoka.

Huntsville OPP remains committed to ensuring Ontario roads are safe from alcohol-impaired and drug-impaired drivers. The OPP is reminding drivers that no amount of alcohol or drugs in your system is safe when operating a motor vehicle.
