Huntsville OPP arrest suspect wanted on warrant

On September 27, 2017 Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) had information that a male who has an outstanding warrant was in the area of Ott Drive in the town of Huntsville.

Just after 12:00pm Huntsville detachment members located the male in the parking lot. After a short foot pursuit the male managed to get into his vehicle, taking off at a high rate of speed, but not before making contact with a police cruiser.

As a result of this investigation Huntsville OPP has been actively looking for the suspect Marcel ZIMMERMAN (42yrs) of Penetanguishene, ON and sought the Huntsville public’s help in finding him. He faces Criminal Code charges as a result of the September 27, 2017 incident.

On Thursday October 12, 2017 Members of the Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along OPP Regional Support Team (RST) located and arrested ZIMMERMAN.

Marcel ZIMMERMAN (42yrs) of Penetanguishene, faces Criminal Code Charges of:

  • Utter Threats
  • Dangerous Driving
  • Driving While Disqualified
  • Fail to Stop At Scene of Accident
  • Fail to Comply With Probation

The accused has been held for a bail hearing and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on October 13, 2017 to answer to his charges.
