Doppler has confirmed that Tarmo Uukkivi, former Director of Operations and Protective Services for the Town of Huntsville, is no longer with the municipality. Discussions surrounding the position were held in closed session at Huntsville Council’s November 27 meeting.
Recently, the Manager of Parks & Cemeteries, Colleen MacDonald, was made the Manager of Roads Operations for the municipality.
Huntsville Mayor Nancy Alcock said the Town’s CAO has assured Huntsville Council that adequate resources are in place to support the municipality going into winter.
Uukkivi had been with the municipality for about a year. He replaced Steve Hernen who retired and ran for Mayor of Huntsville in the 2022 municipal elections.
Huntsville CAO Denise Corry said the Town would be recruiting for the position very soon. “I believe the ad is scheduled to go out before the end of the week. In the meantime, we will be utilizing consulting services to assist with this vacant role until such time as the position is filled. We are so very fortunate to have an amazing team in our operations Division and the Corporation as a whole. I am confident that there will be no disruptions to the services we provide as a result of the departure,” she indicated.
