A recent court session in Bracebridge revealed a case of fraud involving a 20-year-old man. Imran Mohamed pleaded guilty to possessing a stolen SIM card, driver’s license, and other personal identification documents linked to an incident that took place on March 15, 2023.
On that day, Bracebridge OPP received reports of fraudulent activity occurring at The Source. Officers responded quickly and apprehended a man at the scene. Following this, Mohamed, who had allegedly arrived in the same vehicle as the first suspect, was also taken into custody.
During the search of Mohamed’s vehicle, police discovered a counterfeit business document, along with various fake licenses and SIM cards that did not belong to either individual.
As a result, Mohamed was sentenced to a suspended sentence and placed on 18 months probation.
