The team at Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Area can hardly hold back their excitement. Opening weekend is finally here!
Hidden Valley will be open this Saturday, Dec. 8 and Sunday, Dec. 9 with the lifts open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Lifts tickets will be only $25 plus tax for a whole day of skiing or snowboarding.
The Blue Quad chairlift will be open and there will be several terrain park features to play on.
“We are ready to go and looking forward to another fun season on the slopes,” says Andrew Rusynyk, General Manager of the ski area. “We will open for the weekend and then return the focus back to snowmaking and getting the rest of our terrain open.”
Lack of consistent cold weather has proved to be challenging for snowmaking so far this year, but looking ahead there are a few windows of opportunity and the team is ready.
“We have all the snowmaking equipment ready to go and once the temperatures go below minus five we will start up and continue to open terrain as it becomes available,” says Rusynyk. “We will have most of the terrain open and in great shape for the holiday season. We are all looking forward to getting on the snow and making some turns.”
