Sometimes you just have to roll with the changes. Or in this case, ski with them.

The Huntsville High School (HHS) Alpine high school-trained boys ski team were scheduled to compete at the OFSAA (Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations) provincial championships at Osler Bluff on February 25-26, but inclement weather causing blizzard conditions closed the ski hill on the first day and all events had to be completed on the second day of the competition.

Event organizers modified the schedule and, as a result, the team competed in a two-run GS (Giant Slalom) event in the first part of the day and a single-run Slalom in the afternoon.

“It was a long and challenging day and I’m very proud of the way the team rolled with the changes and brought good spirits and strong skiing skills to the competition that day,” said their coach, Nico Byl.

Their strong skiing earned HHS a silver medal for the GS race and they took fourth place overall in the Slalom.
