Glen Maynard has announced his intention to run for the position of McLean Ward councillor in the upcoming municipal election in the Township of Lake of Bays.
Maynard said he has lived in the Village of Baysville his whole adult life, has run a business for 20 years, and has worked as a dispatcher for a large bus company for 28 years.
He’s been involved with the Baysville Lions and joined the Fire Department in 1980, where he served for 29 years as Station Chief in Baysville.
He is now retired, “so I have time,” said Maynard, who has been married to his wife Wendy for 38 years. “We have two children and two grandchildren.”
Asked why he’s running, Maynard said, “With the pressure on the Lake of Bays for development at this time, we need a strong voice on council,” he said, adding that he knows the McLean Ward and Lake of Bays very well.
Asked what he brings to the table, Maynard stated: “I bring business experience as well as listening and living here for over 50 years. I was a partner in the Lincoln in Baysville for 19 years,” he added.
