The COVID-19 outbreak at Fairvern was declared on October 14, 2022, for the first floor only.
To keep residents safe, the first floor has been isolated, and enhanced infection control protocols are in place—including increased PPE, heightened disinfecting, cohorting of residents, and limiting visitation on the first floor to essential caregivers, according to Fairvern administrator Carrie Acton.
As of today, October 21, 2022, Fairvern is reporting 12 active cases of COVID-19 among Fairvern residents and one case has been resolved. “We are in regular communication with Public Health,” stated Acton.
She said dedicated and caring staff at Fairvern continue to navigate through COVID-19 pandemic-related impacts. “Thank you to our heroic Fairvern frontline healthcare workers who provide essential care and support to our residents at Fairvern, every day,” she stated via email correspondence through the District manager of communications, Quinn Michell.
