From the Town of Huntsville
The Town of Huntsville is advising that work has started on South Waseosa Lake Road and is expected to be completed on Friday, October 11. The road will be pulverized, graded, compacted and resurfaced with gravel. It will remain gravel until spring 2025, when a new road surface is scheduled to be applied.
These road repair measures are being taken by the Town because the road is well past its life cycle and attempts to patch the road were unsuccessful. The Town has taken immediate steps to pulverize the road and return it to gravel, instead of waiting until next spring, so that any potholes or rutting that occur during the winter can be easily fixed with a grader.
Pulverization and gravel resurfacing of South Waseosa Lake Road is scheduled to take place from September 30 to October 11, but will be weather dependent. One of the Town’s new digital message boards was set up on South Waseosa as of Friday, September 27, in order to notify local residents of the planned work. During construction, the road will be open to local traffic only. Please expect dust and delays. We thank residents for their patience during these important road repair works.
South Waseosa is going to be pulverized, graded, and compacted starting Monday, September 30, which should take 3-4 days. We will be applying a minimum of 2 inches of Granular A gravel material on South Waseosa starting Monday, October 7, which should take approximately the whole week. We will look to apply dust suppressant after this, as needed.
