On February 20, 2020, the Muskoka Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Huntsville and Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted an investigation into a report of a female who had been acquiring controlled substances with fraudulently obtained prescriptions.
As a result of the investigation a quantity of hydromorphone was seized and Ruth REAMAN (52), of Emsdale, Ontario, has been charged with the following offences:
- Nine (9) counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance – S. 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
- Three (3) counts of Fraud under $5000 – S. 380(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Four (4) counts of Obtaining by False Pretence – S. 362(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Criminal Breach of Trust – S. 336 of the Criminal Code of Canada
The accused was released on an Undertaking to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Huntsville, Ontario on April 1, 2020.
