Drugs seized in Huntsville and Dwight, four charged

 

On April 9th, 2020 the Muskoka Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police and members of the Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police conducted a traffic stop on West Street in the Town of Huntsville. This investigation led to the arrest of two parties, and the seizure of $5,700 in cocaine and $994 in Canadian Currency.

Police seized approximately 35.35 grams of powder cocaine, 13.5 grams of crack cocaine, $994 in Canadian Currency, a prohibited knife, as well as methadone. During the arrest, one party resisted arrest resulting in a minor injury to one of the officers. The following parties have been charged:

Adam BARAGER (28), of Huntsville, Ontario:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking S. 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Crack Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking S. 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 S. 354(1)(b) CCC
  • Resist Peace Officer S. 129(a) CCC
  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon S. 90 CCC
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose S. 88 CCC
  • Two (2) Counts of Fail to Comply with Recognizance S. 145(3) CCC
  • Two (2) Counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order S. 733.1(1) CCC
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methadone S. 4(1) CDSA

Jacqueline TILLEY (30), of Huntsville, Ontario:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking S. 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Crack Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking S. 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methadone S. 4(1) CDSA

TILLEY was released on an Undertaking to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Huntsville, Ontario on June 17th, 2020.

BARAGER has been held in custody for a video remand hearing through the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie, Ontario on April 10th, 2020.

On April 9th, 2020 the Muskoka Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police with assistance from the Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), and the Central Region Canine Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant in the Township of Dwight. Police seized cocaine with an approximate value of $4428 as well as $3995 in Canadian Currency.

At approximately 3:50 pm officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 60 in relation to an investigation being conducted by the Muskoka Community Street Crime Unit. During the stop, two parties were arrested for possession of cocaine for the purposes of trafficking. A short time later, officers executed a search warrant on their residence in the Township of Dwight.

As a result of this investigation, police seized approximately 44.28 grams of cocaine, $3995 in Canadian Currency, a prohibited knife, and a replica handgun which had been modified to appear as a real firearm. The following parties have been charged:

Matthew MCINDOO (31), of Huntsville, Ontario:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking S. 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Crack Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking S. 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 S. 354(1)(b) CCC
  • Possession of an Imitation Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose S. 88 CCC
  • Two (2) Counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order S. 733.1(1) CCC

Courtney COUCKUYT (24), of Huntsville, Ontario:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking S. 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Crack Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking S. 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 S. 354(1)(b) CCC
  • Possession of an Imitation Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose S. 88 CCC
  • Carrying a concealed weapon S. 90 CCC

Both accused have been released on Undertakings to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Huntsville, Ontario on June 17th, 2020.
