The District of Muskoka has given preliminary approval to a 33-unit condominium development on an estimated 4.1-acre property with frontage on Florence Street West.
The lands at newly created 3 Horizon Lane have approximately 114 feet of frontage on Florence Street West. The proposed development would comprise 32 stacked townhouse units within two separate, two-storey buildings. There would also be an additional unit consisting of a detached parking garage with a residence on the second floor intended for a caretaker.
The two buildings would contain eight units on the first floor (the units would have two levels) and eight units on the basement level for a total of 16 units per building.
The development is proposed to be fully serviced by municipal water and sewer services and accessed through a private common element road which will connect to Florence Street West.
You can find District’s full report including information about how to file an appeal to the decision, HERE.

Hi Kevin, this from the Town of Huntsville’s Planning Department: “The developer received zoning and site plan approval for the physical development several years ago. The condominium approval through the DMM [District Municipality of Muskoka] deals with ownership only – so each unit can be sold individually, as compared to the entire development remaining in one ownership. In some instances developers apply concurrently for condominium approval at the same time as we are dealing with the zoning and site plan or community planning permit, however, it is not always the case.” The link to the story regarding the approval the Town gave the developer in 2022 is at the bottom.
I’m confused, isn’t this project almost entirely built?
