Wondering how the COVID-19 cases to date in Huntsville/Lake of Bays stack up? Here they are, by the numbers (to Jan. 18, 2021).
Seventy-five per cent of cases to date have been in people aged 64 or younger. Cases are evenly split between males and females. The most common source of infection, at 41 per cent of cases, is close contact with another confirmed case, followed by those acquired in the community at 27 per cent. Almost half (47 per cent) have occurred since Dec. 1, 2020.

Why was the age group for the, unfortunate people, who died not given?
This is a serious illness for the elderly and for those with comorbidities, it is not serious illness for the young (60 & under?) and healthy. However the young and healthy will pay financially for most of their life… Sad!

Thank you for catching that oversight, Jeff. We’ll add that information. Both of the Huntsville-area residents who have died due to COVID-19 were under the age of 65.
