Today, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) reported two new COVID-19 cases in Huntsville, a woman aged 65-79 whose infection was community acquired and a man aged 45-64 whose case is under investigation. There have now been seven cases reported in Huntsville this week and 11 in December.
Of the 39 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Huntsville to date, six are active, including two in hospital, and one man has died from the disease.
There have been a total of 121 cases in Muskoka to date (13 of them currently active) and 2,771 in Simcoe County. (For a full list of Huntsville and Lake of Bays cases to date, and other COVID-19 updates for the area, visit our COVID-19 page.)
Simcoe Muskoka was moved into the red “control” level of the province’s COVID-19 response framework on December 14.

It is simple, stay away from people(2m), wear a mask and wash your hands. Why is this not understood after 9 months? I had a momentary lapse and kissed my wife upon her return from a trip and now am in hospital! Wear the mask people

I agree 100% James. Does not make any sense to me why we are marketing for visitors to come from lock down areas. We need to protect our population here. If everyone just stays put we will be able to get back to “normal” and get our economy back on track much sooner.
Seeing our health care workers will be able to get vaccinated in Barrie soon should be reason enough for every one in Muskoka to petiton to stay in the “red zone” with Simcoe County
