Despite repeated delays, work on the tennis courts at Conroy Park has been completed, and the courts are now available for public use.
The work included demolition and removal of the existing courts, resurfacing, court surfacing, and lining for new multi-use courts. The work was expected to be completed last July, but the Town issued a release in August, noting that the work had been delayed due to inclement weather and that it was then waiting on the contractor.
Then, on July 15, came the good news. The courts have been completed, and they look great.

Once again, I fail to understand how this is in any way acceptable or justifiable. “The work was expected to be completed last July, but the Town issued a release in August, noting that the work had been delayed due to inclement weather and that it was then waiting on the contractor.” So we incurred a 12-month delay because of inclement weather? What is going on here? Is it impossible to find competent contractors? Can the town not create contracts that keep contractors in check? Is the court resurfacing industry so maxed out that there are not enough options? If there is a good reason for this mess, I expect the town to give us a straight answer. Incidentaly, I would also hope that the Doppler could dig a bit deeper.
