Cole Punchard wins Lake Placid World Cup Mountain Bike Race

Finishing more than a minute ahead of his nearest competitor, Cole Punchard has made his community of Huntsville proud by winning his first World Cup.

The reigning Canadian National U23 Champion is now 7th in World Cup ranking!

Punchard, at only 20 years old, started his love of biking with the Muskoka Kids Triathlon in Huntsville.

According to his proud grandmother, Lucile Frith, “We don’t have mountains in Huntsville, but we do have exceptional athletes!”

The last World Cup race is next weekend at Mount Ste Anne in Quebec.
