Chromebooks are now available for use at Huntsville Public Library

Don’t have a laptop? No problem. Huntsville Public Library has Chromebooks that can be used in the Library
beginning August 2. “We’re so excited about this new initiative. If users love it then we’ll increase the number and
access. A win for everyone,” said CEO/Chief Librarian Deb Duce.

The Chromebooks were purchased with MTCS Capacity Grant funding with the goal of expanding technologies and access to the community. The Chromebooks connect quickly to the Library’s free wi-fi network and users can work on projects, research family history, play a game, or create a resume. It’s all up to the user.

The chromebooks can be used by anyone with an HPL library card in good standing with loan periods of two hours with the return time printed on the checkout slip.

Intrigued? Stop by the Library, check one out, and use the help guide created by eLibrarian Julie to search, discover, and create. Beginning this Fall you will also be able to print from the wi-fi network (a hint of what’s coming).
