For 31 years, Bill and Barb Coon have served the Huntsville and area community with the Muskoka Medical Centre Pharmacy in the medical building by the hospital. Now, they are bringing the same friendly and professional service to a second location.
The Campus Trails Remedy’sRx pharmacy, located in the new Campus Trails Wellness Centre off Muskoka Rd 3 N, opened in fall 2020 and is welcoming new patients.
“I liked the concept of our new location being at a campus of care,” said Bill. “It’s right by the hospital, easy to get to, and there is tons of free parking.”
The Campus Trails Wellness Centre also houses two doctors’ suites and a physiotherapy clinic.
The pharmacy is currently a team of three: owners and pharmacists Bill and Barb Coon and their business partner, pharmacist Jenna Whitehead. Meghan Coon is interning and will soon be their newest pharmacist.
The Muskoka Medical Centre Pharmacy will remain open as usual and the pharmacists will rotate between the two locations.
As pharmacist for more than 37 years, Bill has spent almost the entirety of his career here in Huntsville.
“Huntsville is such a great little town,” he said. “Our citizens are very giving and generous and are always finding ways to better the community.”
Beyond filling prescriptions, both locations administer vaccine injections, conduct medication reviews, and dispense medications in compliance packaging, which places pills in calendar bubbles to ensure that people taking numerous prescriptions are taking them at the correct time.
“We pride ourselves on offering professional and friendly service as well as consistency of care,” said Bill. “Our staff has been with us for a long time so you can comfortably count on seeing the same faces time after time. We offer all the services that a big city pharmacy offers but in our own small town way.”
Campus Trails Remedy’sRx is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and will be open on Saturdays in the near future. Campus Trails Remedy’sRx is located at Unit 1, 39 Campus Trail, off of Muskoka Rd 3 North or Earls Rd in Huntsville. Contact them at 705-789-5331.
