Roger Laverne Wood

Roger Laverne Wood, much-loved husband of Carolyn and cherished father of Kirk and Coralee, entered heaven on May 15, 2025, after a 2 year battle with cancer.

Dear brother of Larry (Janice), Sherry (Ken), Darlene (Terry), Nancy, Patsy (Neil), Sandy(Bob), Robert, Rose(Jerry) and Della. Roger was predeceased by his brothers Brad and Jake, sister Ena and his parents Alex and Annie Wood. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law Craig (Sandy), Claude (Lynda, deceased), and his sister-in-law Anita. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces, nephews, and a great, great nephew.

Roger’s favourite pastime was speckle trout fishing which he enjoyed with many of his family and friends throughout his lifetime. For the last several years, he loved spending time fishing with his cousin Ruth on Dan’s lake. His John Deere loader was his pride and joy and he spent days building roads and trails throughout his many acres.

He always had a special relationship with his many siblings whom he loved very much. Wonderful memories were made with his circle of treasured friends. Ultimately, Roger’s legacy will be his love for the Lord and his timely words of encouragement, his big heart, and his compassion for others.

Celebration of Life for Roger will be held at Riverside Baptist Church on Saturday, May 24 at 2 p.m.

In Roger’s memory, the family would appreciate donations to Teen Challenge Canada online https://www.teenchallenge.ca/donate or call 1-888-417-7777.
