Call to OPP leads to impaired charges

On November 27, 2022, at approximately 5:52 a.m., OPP received notification of a possible impaired driver in the downtown area of Huntsville.

The vehicle was located on Duncan St. in Huntsville. As a result of an investigation, a 40-year-old McMurrich-Monteith Township woman was charged with driving while impaired.

Amanda Bennett has been charged with the operation of a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood and the operation of a motor vehicle while impaired. 

The defendant was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Muskoka on January 17, 2023.

Huntsville OPP is reminding drivers that no amount of alcohol or drugs in your system is safe when operating a motor vehicle. Make alternative arrangements, such as a designated driver, taxi, rideshare, or staying the night.
