The Haliburton Highlands OPP are currently investigating two separate incidents where females have been followed or approached by unknown males. The incidents occurred between April 25 and May 9, 2023.
In both incidents, females have been approached by individuals in vehicles.
On April 25, 2023, at 4:00 p.m., a female driving from Haliburton to the town of Minden believed that a gold-coloured cube van was following her. The driver went to the OPP Detachment and the van left the area. No description of the driver was obtained in this incident.
On May 9, 2023, at 1:30 p.m., a white pickup truck followed a female pedestrian in Haliburton, asking her if she wanted to make money. The male was described as having a darker complexion, spoke with a heavy accent, and was wearing a dirty grey tracksuit.
The Haliburton Highlands OPP continue to investigate these incidents and remind all members of the public to be aware of their surroundings and personal safety at all times. Call the police to report any suspicious activity.
