ATV rider airlifted to Huntsville hospital

On Wednesday, May 10 at 3 p.m. Kearney Fire and Emergency Services received a call about an ATV accident on trail “D” between Boat Ramp Road and Forestry Tower Road.

The lone female operator had lost control of her ATV as it landed on her. Another ATV operator was able to remove the ATV from her and call 911.

Due to a lack of information regarding location, the rescue took four hours to get her out to a waiting air ambulance which air-lifted her to Huntsville District Memorial Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Kearney Fire, Parry Sound Ambulance, ORANGE, and Almaquin OPP were all part of this coordinated rescue.
