On Wednesday March 22, 2023 at approximately 11:30 p.m. members of the Almaguin Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a fire along with the Sundridge, Strong Fire Department, the South River, Machar Fire Department, the Office of the Fire Marshall (OFM) and the Parry Sound Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
Police report that two people were taken to hospital by EMS, one person suffered serious injuries after a fire started at a Cheryl Crescent residence.
The OFM, OPP and fire department continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
