Almaguin Fire Chiefs raise the fire rating to high

The Almaguin Fire Chiefs for Kearney, Perry, Burk’s Falls, Magnetawan, and Sprucedale, have raised the fire rating to high.

Perry, Kearney, and Burk’s Falls have all had brush/forest fires so the fire chiefs raised the rating to high, effective today.

This means there is no daytime burning allowed. 

Small contained campfires for cooking and warmth are allowed in the evening only. 

Fireworks are not permitted and burn permits are suspended. 

The conditions are very dry.

Please be careful with any open flames. Make sure you have tools such as rakes and shovels with a water supply close by when burning.

  • No accelerants are permitted.
  • Have water, shovels and anything that can assist in containment available at all times.
  • All fires must be supervised at all times
  • Recreational fires shall be no larger than 2FT by 2 FT and 6M from adjacent properties and combustibles.
  • Non recreational fire shall be no larger than 2M by 2M and 25 Meters from adjacent properties and combustibles.
