A second person charged in relation to dispute on South Lancelot Road

On September 19, 2022, at approximately 2:20 p.m. members of the Huntsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of a dispute occurring between two individuals in which a gunshot was reportedly heard. The dispute was reported to have occurred at a property located on South Lancelot Road in Huntsville.

Members of the Huntsville OPP have charged a second person in connection with this dispute. On October 04, 2022, Patrick IRELAND, 53 years of age, from Hamilton, was arrested in relation to this investigation and has been charged with the following:

–      Attempt murder contrary to section 239 (1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

–      Point firearm contrary to section 87 of the Criminal Code of Canada.

–      Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose contrary to section 88 of the Criminal Code of Canada.

–      Discharge firearm with intent contrary to section 244 (1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

IRELAND is being held in custody and scheduled to appear on October 05, 2022, in the Ontario Court of Justice, Muskoka.

The initial suspect and victim’s identity will be withheld in an effort to protect the victim’s identity.

You can also submit your information online at https://ontariocroimestoppers.ca Crime Stoppers does not subscribe to call display, and you will remain anonymous. Being anonymous, you will not testify in court and your information may lead to a cash reward of up to $2,000.
