Young local business woman brings new leadership to the Muskoka Music Centre

Muskoka Music Centre welcomes new leadership as new Owner and Centre Director Paige Meunier joins the business.

A Huntsville native, Paige grew up in the arts scene in the local area, starring in Huntsville High School productions as well as Huntsville Festival of the Arts musicals. After receiving a Bachelor of Music from Dalhousie University, she returned to Huntsville working for the HfA and the Algonquin Theatre. She is currently completing her Masters in Voice Pedagogy and Performance Coaching.

Judy Freeman, MMC’s current owner, shared, “I am confident that Paige will bring the energy and vision to take the Muskoka Music Centre to new heights under her leadership.”

The Muskoka Music Centre started over 25 years ago with Frank Berg introducing our community to fun music lessons for all ages and abilities.

“The Muskoka Music Centre has been a part of my life for so long,” says Berg. “I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to teach and feel a connection to so many families in Muskoka.”

Berg transferred ownership of the music centre five years ago to long-time music educator and colleague Judy Freeman and continues to teach his favourite music classes at the centre.

In the last year, Muskoka Music Centre expanded to a four-classroom studio complex to accommodate the growing number of instructors and their students. This cooperative of musicians in Huntsville has grown into a passionate community that embodies teamwork, excellence, and shared success.

Muskoka Music Centre is built on the philosophy that music is meant to be played together. When we all play our part and work in harmony together, we create something truly beautiful.

The centre currently has eleven teachers specializing in Piano, Voice, Strings, Guitar, Ukulele, and Drums. This coming year, they are again expanding to offer a room for new programming, group sessions, and even birthday parties. New programming begins in January, so consider giving the gift of music this holiday season with music lessons or a gift certificate for a workshop.

Under new leadership, MMC aims to foster relationships with community organizations to offer more programs and events to Huntsville and the surrounding area.

“Huntsville and Muskoka are extremely rich in their arts community,” says Meunier. “I want anyone curious about music to see Muskoka Music Centre and know they will be welcome to explore, whatever their age or starting level.”

Come and visit the music centre at 15 Manominee St. 1A 15, or visit our website: www.muskokamusiccentre.com to learn about lessons, workshops, and special events.
