Writer/director Stephen Wallis to attend Reel Alternatives’ screening of his film The Martini Shot

From Reel Alternatives

Reel Alternatives, Huntsville’s connection to the TIFF Film Circuit, is excited to host writer/director, Stephen Wallis at the screening of his film, The Martini Shot, next Monday, March 17th at the Algonquin Theatre.

“We are very fortunate that the moon and stars (and shamrocks) aligned so that he could attend,” says Laura Kennedy of Reel Alternatives. “It will be a real treat for our audience to hear firsthand what it was like to direct such iconic actors as Matthew Modine, John Cleese and Derek Jacobi, no less.”

Wallis, who lives north of Huntsville, intends to introduce the film and then take questions from the audience.

Filmed in Ireland, The Martini Shot is a dramatic comedy about an ailing film director (Modine) as he shoots what he believes to be his final film. He also believes he may be God. What starts out as a normal movie, ends up being an exploration of mortality and one’s profound effect on the world. The Martini Shot is generously sponsored by Muskoka Landing Retirement Lodge.

Tickets are available for just $10 online at reelalternativeshuntsville.ca or algonquintheatre.ca, at the door or by calling the Algonquin Theatre box office at 705-789-4975. Reel Alternatives Huntsville gratefully acknowledges their partnership with Film Circuit, presented by the Toronto International Film Festival, and its sponsors and supporters.
