Ontario’s Municipal Act requires Huntsville’s treasurer to provide an annual report on the remuneration paid to each member of council.
Those numbers were provided in a staff report at the Corporate Services Committee meeting on Feb. 27, 2020.
The total cost for council remuneration and benefits in 2019 was $257,572, lower than the budgeted $269,986. Included in the 2019 budget amount was $11,000 for additional meetings, or attendance at conferences or meetings. The total amount paid was $7,725 and is included in the overall total.
The total budget for councillor discretionary spending for 2019 was $19,450, and came in more than $6,000 below that at $13,238.
