William ‘Bill’ Taylor

1948 – 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Billy on October 20, 2025, at the age of 77.

Forever remembered by his wife Kathryn, daughter Kristin (Jeff), son Jeffrey (Jenni), and cherished granddaughter Lyla. Missed deeply by his cat, Finnegan. A loving big brother to Stephen (Lori) and Carol (Anthony), and a much-loved uncle to Jennifer, Michael, Matthew, Bob, Shawn, Tallulah, and Grady. Fondly remembered by his in-laws, Andrea (Gerry), Kelley, Spencer (Lynn), D.D., and Lesley (Darren).

At just 20 years old, Bill began what would become a remarkable 36-year teaching career with the Toronto District School Board, starting at John Fisher P.S. and later moving to Bedford Park P.S. Throughout his career, he was more than a teacher—he was a mentor, coach, and lifelong inspiration to generations of students. Even after retiring to Bracebridge, Bill continued to dedicate himself to education through his involvement with the Breakfast Club and by volunteering to teach art, one of his greatest passions.

Bill touched the lives of many, not by seeking recognition, but by encouraging those around him to discover their true potential.

He will be remembered for his infectious laugh, his love of music and golf, and his ability to turn strangers into friends.

We know he’s now enjoying a Boston-sized pint on the 19th hole.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Muskoka Shores for their care and dedication.

In memory of Bill, donations can be made to The Breakfast Club of Canada or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.  A Celebration of Life will take place in Toronto at a later date.

Cremation arrangements entrusted to Cottage Country Cremation Inc. 55 Ann Street, Bracebridge ON.

Our deepest condolences to Kathryn, Jeff, Jenni, Kristin, Jeff and Lyla. We will always hold Bill deep in our hearts. He made us laugh and always made us feel like the most important people in the room. He greeted us with warm hugs, the offer of a beer and a great story. We know he’s out there somewhere, enjoying his recliner and cracking open a cold one. Love you Bill ♥️
