From Almaguin Highlands OPP
On October 17, 2024, at approximately 3:30 a.m., the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a weapons call for service at a residence in the Township of Ryerson where a person threatened another person with a firearm.
In addition, at approximately 8:00 p.m., same date, the Almaguin Highlands OPP Crime Unit executed a search warrant where they located and seized numerous firearms and ammunition.
Marc REAMAN, 39 years old of Burk’s Falls, was arrested and charged with the following:
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault cause bodily harm – Choke, suffocate or strangle
- Utter threats – cause death or bodily harm
- Carry concealed weapon
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a weapon
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm – four counts
- Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo – two counts
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
- Careless use of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition – two counts
- Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition – four counts
The accused was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody.
