Weapons call results in numerous charges against Burk’s Falls resident

On October 17, 2024, at approximately 3:30 a.m., the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a weapons call for service at a residence in the Township of Ryerson where a person threatened another person with a firearm.

In addition, at approximately 8:00 p.m., same date, the Almaguin Highlands OPP Crime Unit executed a search warrant where they located and seized numerous firearms and ammunition.

Marc REAMAN, 39 years old of Burk’s Falls, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Assault cause bodily harm – Choke, suffocate or strangle
  • Utter threats – cause death or bodily harm
  • Carry concealed weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm – four counts
  • Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo – two counts
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
  • Careless use of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition – two counts
  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition – four counts

 The accused was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody.
