Watch for TriMuskokan participants on the roads this Sunday

 

The fifth annual TriMuskokan triathlon takes place on Sunday, June 23. The following roads will be either temporarily closed or will have intermittent traffic stoppages.

Temporary event road closures:

  • Forbes Hill Drive closed from Camp Kitchen Road to the rock cut from 7:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
  • Camp Kitchen Road closed from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
  • Park Drive closed from Canada Summit Centre south parking lot to Brunel Road from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Intermittent traffic stoppages on Brunel Road:

  • Brunel Road from Park Drive (south end) to Townline/Forbes Hill Drive between 8:10 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
  • Brunel Road from Townline Road to 15km south on Brunel, approaching South Portage Lake Road from 8:20 a.m. to approximately 9:45 a.m.
  • Intersection of Muskoka Rd 10 and Brunel Road from 8:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.

Canada Summit Centre partial parking lot closure:

  • From 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 22 until 12:00 p.m. (This is the transition zone for the event.)

    I certainly hope the town will post the streets like Florence, West and some others for parking on one side only and fine the people who park too close to the corners and the fire hydrant. When they hold a event at the summit center we have a lot of problems with parking. Lots of times I’ve seen it so congested that if there was a fire or an ambulance was needed there would be no way to get up the street, also the huntsville transit I’ve seen have problems if it’s on a Saturday.
