Muskoka joins the Global Climate Strike—it’s time for multigenerational action

Muskoka Power of Many (MPOM) is heeding the call from the children of the world to leave our homes and workplaces and join them in the streets to demand that our leaders act immediately to transition the world off fossil fuels. The time has come for multigenerational action.

A Global Climate Strike rally is planned for Friday, September 27 from 11:30 to 1:00 p.m. at the Huntsville Town Hall.

“Our house is on fire,” says young climate activist, Greta Thunberg. “This is a global issue which actually affects everyone. We are all in the same boat, so everyone should be concerned about this.”

MPOM is calling on our Muskoka municipal and District governments to declare a climate emergency and to take real action by setting up a citizen’s assembly this fall to advise on the actions needed to address the urgency of the climate crisis.

Millions of students worldwide will walk out of their schools during the week of Sept. 20-27. Those same children are calling on everyone—young people, parents, workers, pensioners and all concerned humans worldwide—to join them in their demand for a future.

This is a call out to all adults to join one or both of these Global Climate Strike events.
