Officers from the Huntsville detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged two parties yesterday as a result of a vehicle stop in Huntsville.
On August 21, 2017 shortly after 2:00am, an OPP officer was on patrol and stopped at the intersection of Susan Street West and Centre Street North in Huntsville when a Jeep SUV, making a turn onto Susan Street West, almost struck the police vehicle. The officer subsequently conducted a vehicle stop to investigate further.
Upon speaking to the driver it was found that his driver’s license was suspended. Investigation continued with a search of the SUV where approximately 40 grams of cocaine was seized, along with cash and drug paraphernalia. Both parties were arrested and transported to detachment for processing.
Charged is 32 year-old Perry MACDONALD of Huntsville, he is facing a charge of Possession of Cocaine For The Purpose of Trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) as well as a Highway Traffic Act (HTA) charge of Driving While Under Suspension. He is to appear the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on October 4, 2017.
Charged as well is 41 year-old Lisa CECY of Huntsville, she is facing a CDSA charge of Possession of Cocaine For The Purpose Of Trafficking as well as a Criminal Code charge of Fail To Comply With Probation Order. She was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge.
