The JJ Dance Competitive team opened their 2017 season in a dynamic fashion this past weekend at The Dance Canada competition in Collingwood.
Thirty-five dancers and 40 numbers representing five choreographers took the stage with confidence and determination and it paid off! JJ Dance routines took home many Defining Moment awards including the Firecracker award for the Petite Jazz company, the Golden Treasure award for the Pre-Competitive Acro group and the Fierce award for the Senior Jazz company. The team received fourteen Gold (88.00-89.99), 23 High Gold (90.00-92.99) and three Dynamic Gold (93.00 and over), putting them in great position for the overall awards at the end of the competition.
- Will Demaine and Noah Banks “I Go to Work” received 3rd highest mark overall in the Novice division
- Bella Main, Morgan May, and Claire Quinlan “Destiny’s Children” received 2nd highest mark for the entire Junior Pre-Competitive division.

Pre-Competitive acro “Arabia” recieved the 2nd highest score in the Novice category.
(Katie Fernandez, Emma McLellan, Bella Main, Kailey May, Allie Peace, Samantha Chochlowsky, Ava Williamson, McKenna Allen, Ocea Harris, Alexus Banks.

The JJ Dance Novice competitors earned seven trophies, including the second and third highest scoring routines out of all Novice entries. The JJ Dance Pre-Competitive dancers would not be outdone, earning 16 trophies, including the second highest scoring routine out of all the junior aged entries.
The dancers are excited, but have little time to celebrate as all the solo, duet and trio dancers are headed to View Dance Challenge in North Bay this coming weekend to do it all over again!
