Discover programs, activities, and events for March, April, and May in the Town of Huntsville’s new, digital, spring edition of the Art, Culture and Recreation Guide and register for your favourite programs. Registration starts online at Huntsville.ca or in-person at the Canada Summit Centre today, March 9 at 8:30 am for town programs and May 4 for summer day camps.
2023 Spring Program Highlights:
New this spring in programming, are plenty of leisure activities and programs to keep you and your family members active and social. Program highlights include adult registered fitness classes such as a variety of yoga classes, including the new Yin Yang Yoga class focused on moderate intensity. If you are looking for a condensed full body workout and have a busy schedule, try our Lean Lunch workout or the Tabata and Strength Training class.
In addition to the fitness and active programs for adults, we are offering two new workshops to educate and provide awareness on Fitness Fundamentals as well as a workshop on Nutrient Knowledge.
For youth, there are plenty of summer day camp options for children that are interested in the arts, sports, or a classic camp experience. Programs are run from the Canada Summit Centre and are a full-day experience sure to keep your little ones happy and social. There are also new youth programs for active kids.
“Sport for children is so important for a healthy body, it is fun, a way to make friends and it also helps with a positive attitude,” notes Trish Conley-Knight, Manager of Recreation, Culture and Heritage.
Continuing this spring for creative youth are Family Crafts at the Active Living Centre as well as plenty of creative programming for youth such as Drama Club, Learn to Draw, Lets Colour: learn colour fundamentals, Art Club, and Comic Drawing.
2023 Spring Arts and Culture Highlights:
Arts and Cultural events are in full swing with a variety of performances, plays and films at the Algonquin Theatre such as Emily, Séan McCann Sings the Great Big Song Book, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast: the Broadway Musical, Ron James, Jesse Cook and so much more. 2023 Spring Leadership Highlights:
Do you know, or are you an inspiring leader? The Town of Huntsville has several fantastic programs to help promote and develop leadership skills and provide certification. We offer a Swim Instructor Course that is perfect for individuals interested in a career in aquatics as well as several Leadership Courses in first aid. There are also courses offered that focus on opportunities in a home or recreational setting, such as the Leaders in Play, Counsellors in Training, or the popular Home Alone and Baby Sitting Courses.
Please note that some programs, especially swimming, camps, and fitness programs fill up fast. Don’t be disappointed, ensure you have an online registration account, and know what programs you wish to participate in prior to the registration date.
