As of late last night, the Town of Huntsville Building Department received the final documents that were required in order to finalize the Occupancy Permit for the Table Men’s Shelter.
Upon review of these materials, Town staff have confirmed that the project now complies with Building and Fire Code requirements and an Occupancy Permit will be issued.
The Chief Building Official for the Town of Huntsville required the additional documentation as structural concerns were identified last year during a site inspection by Ms. Berg’s Engineer. At that time, the Town notified the individuals involved with the application of the deficiency and the required documentation.
The Town of Huntsville is looking forward to working with the Table Men’s Shelter to complete their current project, as well as future endeavours.
Update: Town of Huntsville CAO Denise Corry confirmed that the occupancy permit is for eight beds. In September, The Table’s CEO Heather Berg said that the shelter would initially open with just four beds with the possibility of adding an additional four beds if it is able to demonstrate a need, secure ongoing operational funding and quell concerns about whether the shelter will have properly trained staff to deal with crisis situations. FUNNY………. HOW SOMEONE HAS TO DIE BEFORE ANY ONE TAKES NOTICE ! SO VERY DISAPPOINTING , THE TOWN OF HUNTSVILLE HAVE BLOOD ON THEIR HANDS. A WEEK TOO LATE !
Wow! That was fast Mr. Mayor! The Buck stops here indeed! New piece of trivia; Harry S. Truman, perhaps the S. really stands for our Scott.
Not being facetious here Mr. Mayor. We all had our turn at criticising Town Hall from top to bottom. It started with anger at bureaucracy and their ambling ways provoked by the horrible news of the death of Paul Fenc.
But whatever you did Sir, it worked.
Kudo’s !
